TONCHON SOUTH between TONCHON and KANYU I was on H5 the 5th train load of about 600 men, the previous four train loads went higher up the rail line .Days later H6. A party of about 500 officers arrived at our camp, bringing the total up to about 1000.
The camp C.O. Col. Newey had no hospital apart from one tent, which housed 10 very sick men. When cholera reached us an isolation area was set up on the edge of the camp. Those who died were cremated on large bamboo fires.
